Bycycle "injury"...i think... help? |
i rided my bycycle for the first time today for an entire hour.... i am not used to the bycycle , neither to cardio physycal exercises.... when i unmounted my bike i suddenly felt a huge pain right in the muscles lower to my buttocks.... will this pain pass by itself or is it a more serious thing ? It depends on what you actually did to it. It sounds like you may have tweaked one of your hamstring muscles (below your butt, top back of your leg). If you can walk on it with only limited discomfort than you will be fine. The best thing to do is to Ice it, Compress it (with an ACE bandage) and elevate the injury. elevate it so the injury is above the height of your heart. For future reference, take a quick jog first and stretch out all your muscles before riding. This will help prevent these kind of strains. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/the... I hope English isn't your first language. It's "rode" not "rided" and "bicycle". Also, we don't say unmounted. Anyway, just stretch and you'll be fine. Ziggy, if you just rode your bike for the first time you will experience some stiffness, one needs to start slow, not go long distances until your muscles are used to biking. Now if you wiped out make sure you wear a helmet so if you do fall off you won't have a serious injury I never heard of pain radiating to you back end. if its on a cardio bike set it at a lower rate until you can handle more your muscles are saying you didn't exercise me for awhile so go easy for the first bit. If the pain persists you should stop then make an appt with your doctor. quite often any work out one should check with their doctor before proceeding. especially if you experience chest pains. |
