I train professional sled dogs so training isn't a hard thing for me. Until I got Sarge. He is a Great Dane/Shepard cross and a HUGE boy. He is very smart and learns quickly; and I think that's why I can't train him! He's too smart for me. I've taught him tricks as well as changed other behavior problems. He loves exercise and so do I. I take him for bike rides everyday. I keep him on leash as he is dominate and would most likely fight with neighbors. However, we have been having spills. Three times, in one week, we've crashed. I twisted an ankle on a tree (don't ask), slashed my legs on bike bolts (and got nasty bruises), and dislocated my shoulder. I'm still recovering from the latter two (the very latter happened today). Riding horses I use the motto of getting back on when thrown; but three is also a charm and enough is enough. I need to stop before I seriously break something, a leg or something then all his training is wasted, or 1 of us gets killed (namely him)! Ideas? Help?
Why don't you try running with him instead until he becomes a little less reckless? don't use a bike, get a moped or something that can keep up with the dog, and so that you can hop off of very easily/quickly if needed
