Exercises While Pregnant? Please Help!?

Hi .. I am overweight and wanted to loose atleast 20lbs before trying to have a baby. Guess what? We think I am pregnant now and I am happy, but a little sad because I wanted to loose weight first. Anyways, what are good things to do that are good for baby and me. I would like to replace the 20lbs overweight that I am now with pregnancy weight - instead of loosing it entirely.

So, what are good overall body exercises that I can do in the first trimester and not harm baby?
Bike riding?

I also have flabby arms and wanted to loose the fat around it, how do I go about leaning them up a bit while pregnant?

Thanks for your comments.

oh honey, been there!!! do not expect to lose weight, do not expect to only gain 15 lbs, wait til afterwards... meanwhile stick to swimming/walking. you don't want to ride a bike b/c your center of gravity changes, so you are more prone to getting off balance and falling (which is why you don't wanna climb a lot of stuff either). if you're not used to excercising regularly don't start something like running, or even jogging now! even your walking should be limited. the minute you get tired STOP. you can do some weights (on machines, not free weights) for your arms, but stick to light weights w/ many repetitions, and don't go up in weight as you get stronger. prenatal yoga is amazing and what it does for labor is worth it on its own! i'll tell you this, i finally lost the weight after my son started walking. i'm now at a weight i've never been in my life! oh, and weight watchers has a nursing moms program which is nice too :)
You can't replace the weight you already carry with baby weight it doesn't work like that. At the very least if you are very obese they will sometimes allow you to only gain about 15 pounds but that is for obese women only. On average you are supposed to gain between 25-35 pounds. Sorry hun but the weight loss has to weight. You can do some low impact workouts while you are pregnant but never let yourself get to the point of being exhausted. Pick up a prenatal workout video.
You're not supposed to diet AT ALL when you are prego, so don't lose the weight that way. However, there are a lot of pilates/yoga workouts that are for pre/post natal women. I bought a dvd online that I used throughout my pregnancy. Those kinds are really nice too because they are low impact. You can't put a lot of stress on your baby or yourself, so they tell you how to workout while keeping yourself safe. Search for mommy and baby yoga. If you have yoga classes near you, that's even better because you can meet other new mommies in your area. Good luck!
walk. 2 miles a day at a pace that is faster than usual for you but not so fast as to exaust you
My doctor told me that walking was the safest thing to do and a plus it will help you when it comes time to deliver!!
First trimester exercise is just fine. There is no real limitations. Just listen to your body and recognize when your are feeling fatigued or light headed and dizzy and dont try to push yourself too hard. Drink plenty of water. As for the flabby arms I'll try to explain this exercise. Lift arm straight above your head with the palm of your hand facing out and backwards and keeping your arm straight bend your arm at the elbow to touch your shoulder and repeat. You can also do this with light weights in your hands
The absolutely best overall exercise you can do while pregnant is swimming however since we are not all skilled in that area walking is your next best. You should never do streching exercises, such as Yoga unkess instructed by someone who is trained to work with pregnant women, You produce a hormone that allows your body to overstretch and you can cause permanent injury to joints. Also never ride a bicycle, it's just not a good idea.
