Summer diet? |
I'm looking to lose from 30-40 lbs this summer to be ready for school in September(in about 12 weeks). To do this, I'll have to lose from 2.5-3.6 lbs per week. I know it's going to be hard, and not really the safest, since you're only supposed to lose 1-2lbs per week, but isn't it true that obese people are able to lose more weight per week? I'm 180lbs, 5'1", and I'm tired of being the "fat girl", but not tired enough to take up running. I do have a Gazelle exercise machine and don't mind doing that. I also have a bike. I'm even willing to do a crash diet. I have great will power, but I just need some direction. Anyone with personal experience in this area? Buy a juice extractor. Juice your fav fruits and veggies to make juice and/or smoothies. Drink 32oz of fresh juice a day, or eat 8-10 servings of fruits and veggies a day. (or both) Drink 64 oz of water everyday. You can do this by carrying around a water jug with ice water. Drink ice water with a straw. I do not know why this works, but LOL it does! You end up drinking more water than you realize! Use the Gazelle for 30-45 mins a day. Do NOT crash diet. You will gain back all the weight you lost, and then more. FACT. Believe in yourself. Forgive yourself when you 'fall off the wagon'. Reward yourself once a week-whether it's your fav treat, or a movie or whatever. You can DO it!! Good luck, Calista Try loseing that weight by going on your gazelle for an hour so you can burn a lot of calories. Run 2 miles any time you can. Do 60 sit ups a day. Try to do 10 or more push ups a day. Also don't do a crash deit because if you get off the crash deit thats the only food you can eat even if you lost the weight if you start eating different things after the deit you can. Just eat fruits, vegtables , and protein. Also when you can do some yoga, cardio, and palaties to burn lots of calories If you're not tired enough to take up running, then you're not really tired. It's all about the choices you make. Whenever you eat something, just think to yourself, "Do I want this more than I want to be thin?" If the answer is yes, go ahead and have it ... but remember the decision that you're making. The same is true with your activity level. If you want to lose weight, running's the best way to go about it. I don't have perseonal experience but exercising night and morning is the important thing. Especially the morning exercise, although you won't be all that energetic but exercising in the morning is more helpful and more safe to the human body. Night time exercises can cause heart disease so don't work yourself too hard in the evenings. You should start off in the morning doing stretches because it is important to stretch yourself out before you pull a muscle. Jump rope in the morning as many as 300. You can split it into 3 or 6 sets like 100 times then rest and continue doing that or if its too tiring then jump 50 times and rest and continue doing 50 times. Then you should try sit ups like about 100 times. You can try several small sets like 20 each time. The more you do these exercises each day the more you have to try increasing the amount each day. Like say you jump rope 300 times a moring you should try 320 the next day and start adding on everyday. I know the hundreds may scare you but in order to succeed you have to take drastic action. Make you you go try to not run but jog a litttle like 15 mins in the morning. Then start adding on more minutes later in the week. If you play a sport that would be great because it can help you a lot. I play tennis and the more I play the more I lose weight so go try playing a sport like volleyball or tennis or swim if u can because swimming takes use of all the muscles in youe body to swim. Thats all for now, if you need more advice post more questions if needed. O yea make sure you cut on a dietary calorie on food. Especially greasy food liek pizza, fries. Don't eat in fast food restuarants before you can never lose weight. ALso try to eat as many fruits as you can because it helps alot like yogurt too. First of all, the time frame that you are wanting to lose this weight is almost impossible. You need to set a more realistic goal, otherwise you will get discouraged and most likely quit early on. Second, doing it just to look good for school shouldn't be your reason. You should want to do this for your health first. Your stats (height and weight) sound very dangerous for you health girl. You could be at risk for a slew of problems. Start reading the labels of everything you eat, figure out what you need to cut back on or cut out completely from your diet. It really works if you start focusing on what you are putting into your body. You'll be suprised at what you will give up, once you see how bad some things are for you. Good luck, and let us know your progress. Go to www.hungrygirl.com. It's a great website. Trust me! Walk 2 miles a day within 30 minutes. If you can't do it right away Walk 1.5 miles in 30 minutes and build up to 2 miles in 30 minutes. Build up your muscles in all parts of your body. You'll burn more calories even while sleeping and sitting if you add more muscle. You're gonna have to learn about calorie content of food and start moniotring what you eat You are not going to be as successful controlling your weight by exercise alone. And you can't be as successful if you only watch what you eat and don't exercise. They go hand in hand. Here's the formula (Calories consumed minus calories burned) divided by 3500 = lbs of fat gained or lost in a given time period. There are 3500 calories in a pound of fat. Never eat less than 1200 - 1500 calories a day. It is not unrealistice to loose 5-8 pounds the first week But the rate of fat loss wll decrease in subsequent weeks. But 1.5 - 2 lbs a week is a healthy rate after the 3rd or 4th week A lot of girls ask the same question "how much can I loose before school starts". Unless you and they change that way of thinking you are going to continue to have problems maintain your weight. If you set a certain time to loose or a certain amount to loose you will have a tendency to be impatient about getting to that goal. If you don't achieve it as fast as you had planned you become discouraged. And when you reach your goal weight you go back to your old diet and exercise habits after some period of time and the weight comes back. Instead concentrate on changing your eating and lifestyle habits. Make that your goal. If you loose a pound a week on average, at the end of a year you will have lost 52 pounds. You have a chance of continuing that over a longer period of time because you are thinking differently. Try the magnetic diet also known as the food magnetism diet |
