Do you think I'm eating enough?

I can't eat gluten so I started a gluten-free lifestyle. The thing is I've noticed I'm losing a lot of weight, which is bad because I don't need to lose any.

Breakfast: gluten-free cornflakes
Snack: Apple
Lunch: 2 slices of gluten-free bread with either peanut butter, jam or salad. Sometimes I'll have a tuna salad.
Snack: usually a yogurt, rice crackers with honey or a piece of fruit
Dinner: vegetables and a piece if meat
Dessert: I don't usually have dessert but if I'm hungry I'll have a Rice cake with honey or a piece of fruit. Sometimes I'll have banana with custard but rarely cause I don't really like custard.

I like to exercise and keep fit and walk at least an hour everyday on a track with lots of big hills and I also use my exercise bike for an hour everday. I also run steps when I feel like it, usually about 3-4 times a week.

Hi there, i think i may be able to help! I've been a dietitian / nutritionist for the past 9 years so hopefully my experience can help you a little :)

To me, you sound very healthy! And you have a very active lifestyle too. You are probably not eating as much as you could be, so ill give you a couple of pointers! You might not like the sound of having to eat more etc but because of your very active lifestyle i dont beleive this should be a problem.

Breakfast: Probably the most important part of the day. Try putting some cut up strawberries or banana or any fruit you like on top of those cornflakes! And try having one piece of toast aswell. Because GF bread is so small aswell its not really like having a double brekky either!

Snack: Again you are very healthy! But maybe have 2 biscuits, or a slice of cake.

Lunch: Sounds delicious and very healthy

Dinner: Maybe add an extra bit in. Like vege's meat and maybe some rice aswell! (not alot, just maybe 5 mouthfulls etc)

Dessert: Sounds like a very yummy healthy one!

Some other food you could try incorporate into your diet: Pasta, Avocado, dried fruit, nuts, More meat (grilled fish, chicken etc), Try some legumes (chickpeas, lentils etc) this will give you a bit more a varied diet while still keeping you healthy and fit!

So there's some pointers if you would like to be eating more- which you probably could be doing. Since you have a very very active lifestyle its important to probably eat more than usual, because you will burn most of it off!

If you would like to take this a step further, i would reccomend keeping a "calorie counter" which is a log book of all the food you are eating. Start of by writing EVERYTHING you ate in one day, and find out the calories you are getting from it. (go to caloriecounter.com for this) then add up all the calories. 1940 calories is the daily reccomened for woman. If you are getting this- fantastic. If not, maybe try the tips i gave you :)

Keep fit, stay healthy and good luck!

If I were you I'd see a nutritionist for the right advice for your diet. You are eating healthy but in my opinion you are not getting enough calories to keep enough weight on. And the fact that you exercise so much is really just burning off the calories you are eating. So that's the best thing I can think of to do. A nutritionist is trained in this field and can tell you specifically what to eat to fit in with your requirements. Best wishes

Take that stuff you're eating for dessert and add it to either your breakfast or lunch. Also, to dinner you could occasionally add some kind of bread or rice.

The main thing is that you really aren't eating very much. Keep track of your calories for a couple of days and make sure you get enough. Especially on days when you exercise.

It all depends on your metabolism and your body. A person who is very active and wants to stay healthy should be eating between 2000 and 2500 calories per day. Don't be afraid to eat when you're hungry! For some people its better to eat smaller amounts of food more often. If your answers here don't really help you make sure you see a nutritionist or talk to your doctor. Good luck!

Wow! I wish I was as active as you! I think your lifestyle sounds amazing, but it does sound like you could be eating a bit more.
Maybe have some toast for breakfast? You should calculate calories; if you're looking to maintain your weight, you should eat more so your working out doesn't cause the weight-loss. That, or eat more.

WoW, your my Idol, your lifestyle is so healthy and active Im going to continue exercising and eating healthy foods even more then I do know.

Oh yeah...LOL, your question.....Yeah you are eating descent amounts of food I would suggest eating lots of fruits when you are hungry, or if you have the need to snakk. :)

It looks like you're just becoming leaner. You eat healthy AND work out, yet you don't seem to consume much (if any) fat. And so you are probably losing the fat that you had stored up, which you liked on your figure.

Perhaps you could start eating avacados, more red meat, pasta, and eggs.

It sounds like you're not eating enough for your active lifestyle. Try eating a little more. It sounds like you're eating good nutritious foods but you just need to eat more of them. Maybe you should try adding more protein into your diet.

no you are barely eating anything

deffienently eat more meat.....

and you could just eat more servings of what you are or mix it up with other things...

but really if you are loosing weight and you are underweight thats a serious problem

It sounds like your eating enough.
It's just depends on WHAT you're eating that can make you lose or gain weight, and also depends on how much you eat.

Just eat a larger amount of all the foods you have listed here until you have a balanced out weight.

lol this sound slike my breakfest. LOL if you feel good and healthy, then yes you are eating enough. I eat So F***king ,much. I just keep loosing wight though. My meabolism is realy high.

No.

you should be eating a more balanced diet.
More protein, more calories.

if u r concerned then go talk to ur doctor and ask what they think...also...if u find yourself hungry then eat....just remember portion control...its not what u eat but how much u eat

well femaled need like 1200
and males need 1500
to not go INTO STARVATION MODE!!!

Yea!
You eat enough to live!

i think all the food would be enough if you didn't exercise so much

yeah.

honestly it seems like someone on a strict diet...if you dont want to lose weight...your going to have to eat more..
