How can I cut down on snacking and drinking pop


Im trying to lose some weight around my arms and legs, and maybe a flatter stomach. I'm not trying to starve myself, Im still eating breakfest, lunch, and dinner. And a fruit or yogurt snack now and then. And resorted to drinking plently of water.

Unfourtunatley in between that I've been snacking alot and drinking pop. How can I train myself into avoiding these nasty habbits?

I've been biking and walking alot too.
Any other good exercises for losing weight around my arms and thighs (leg area)

You should replace fatty or sugary snacks with fruits or veggies. You can also drink sparkling water with flavors. They are great, I drink those alor. They have no sugar or carbs and taste fantastic.

Until you stop eating the junk food and drinking soda, you won't have much success.

You need to stay away from soda, juice, sweetened teas and coffees, sugary cereals, and candy. Also cut back as much as possible on bread, rice and pasta. Anything with 'white' in the name you should avoid. 'Brown' and 'whole wheat' is good. Try to drink a lot of water and try to eat smaller meals more often as opposed to just two or three larger meals.

What I did was switch from Pop to drinks like Crystal Lite, when I want juice (very high in sugar) I mix it 1/3 juice to 2/3 water. I keep the snacks in inconvenient places, like the garage, and high cupboards, that helps with the late night snacks because I am to tired to go to the garage or get a stool to climb.

As mentioned before, it helps not to have junk food around. Secondly, find snacks that are low calorie and low fat but high in protein, as protein helps you feel fuller longer.

chew gum, carry water. crunches and lunges, and overall best exercise is swimming.

Exchange those snacks for fruits and continue to drink lots of water.

It's easy, just stop buying junk food and soda...or have your parents stop buying it.

dont buy any more soda or snacks. only snack on apples and stuff. thats all i know

The reason I kept drinking pop when dieting was taste. Flat, tasteless water just made me crave something sweet. My solution was to find something without calories that tastes good. After trying a LOT of things, my favorite is the Cherry flavored drink mix from Wal-mart.

For snacks, sometimes you need to just give in to the urge. Sugar-free Jello brand dark chocolate pudding packs have 60 calories and satisfy the sweet tooth. The Hunt's brand ones are awful.

The real key to dieting is to keep going after that slip where you hit the golden arches for burgers and fries. Many people give into one craving and think that means they have no willpower and give up the diet. Think if it like riding a bike: sometimes you'll fall over, but it's ok. You can get right back on the bike. Think of it as learning and changing. One mistake doesn't make you a total failure. Count on a few mistakes each month.
