What Will Happen on a Fruit & Vegetable Diet?

This summer, I have gained quite a few pounds. School starts around September 4th, and I would like to lose at a minimum, 5 pounds. I know it will be a lot of work, but I have read about fruit and vegetable diets, and detoxes.

I already have a pretty good diet. I don't eat any meat but fish. So, I was wondering: if I replaced 2 meals with strictly fruit and vegetables, and had fish for dinner every two nights or so (other nights, dinner would be vegetables), how much weight would I lose weekly?

I would also be exercising every day - walking, running, bike riding. I would also only be drinking water. And, I am taking a multivitamin, already.

So, please, if you can, give me a general idea of how much weight loss is possible (weekly and monthly), it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Your diet is pretty well planned, I guess. You should eat meat on a daily basis, especially after you exercise, unless you want to have nothing but skin and bone. Don't forget about adding some wheat into your diet as well; Stick to the food triangle. ^-^ You probably could lose 1-3 pounds per week depending on how much you work out and how well you eat. I hope I helped!

Sounds like you dont really need to do a Fruit and Veggy diet! You seem to be on the right track with working out and eating right. Try not to eat after 6 and continue working out atleast 30-45mins a day or more; Eat grilled foods, whole grain and fruits. Drink lots lots of water & You will lose 5lbs before school starts!

this sounds some what healthy. however, you need protein!!! especially if you're working out every day. your body will get very weak, very fast, without protein. and it is very un healthy...every part of your body relies on protein intake. i recommend eating more fish, maybe some chicken, or protein rich non-meats like beans, eggs, yogurt, soy, nuts and seeds, among others. or, try supplementing your diet with protein shakes as a small meal replacement. you can add protein powder, vitamins, and fruits, and they taste great! try to do some more research before cutting down to only vegetables.
