Exercising with bike and what else?

The two points of my body that i absolutly can't stand is my stomach and my thighs. They are just too big. We have started to ride a bike 3 to 4 miles a night to hopefully help my legs out, but what is the best way to get rid of the mid section fat. I have extra weight from a baby, and have always been big. Walking is really not my favorite thing to do so we are trying the bike, what else can I do for a person who exercise just isn't easy, and I don't really like to do, but what to get something go, whats the best way to get those areas the fastest?

Hope it helps :)

what about jogging? I know you don't like walking but once you get into a habbit of going jogging a few times a week, your feel really good and it will get easier. I started joggin 3 -4 nights a week (which was a struggle to begin with) but now I love it and my waist and tummy were the first places i noticed weight loss. Good Luck.

the best thing to do is any kind of cardio - running, cycling, rowing, aerobics. hill walking is probably the best for burning fat. i think you would probably enjoy doing some sort of classes down the gym. you will be with lots of people who are in the same situation as you. everyone will be there to get in better shape so you won't have to feel bad and you might even have fun!

areobics, spinning, body pump. anything like that. get down to your local gym or sports centre and ask one of their fitness instructors what classes they have. good luck!

If you exercise your lower body with a bike I'd do lots of pushups to exercise your upper body. To directly target the stomach you should do crunches though.

to get rid of the stomach fast is the national guard way. sit ups
push up, and you can all so bicycle crutches

running burns a lot of calories. and just makes everything look better

Biking doesn't reduce the fat in your legs...any cardio affects the fat in your entire body.

I'm sorry you don't like walking, but you have to ask yourself what's more important to you: your health or your personal preferences. If you are concerned about your health, you should be wanting to push your body. Running will not only show faster results, but is more effective for your bones (the impact helps strengthen them), your muscles, and your cardiovascular system for a strong heart and strong lungs. Biking is all well and good, but unless you're like those endurance bikers that need to eat 6000 calories a day because they bike THAT much, it's only going to yield very minimal results.

What about your diet? What does that look like? And are you lifting weights? My inbox is always open.

You can do two things...build muscle in an area or lose fat overall. So think of it as...you can make an area look bigger or smaller. Specifically working an area you want to decrease will make that area bigger with an increase in muscle mass. If you are already big in the midsection and thighs then don't do exercise that builds muscle in that area like riding a bike. Also, don't try to lose weight fast...it is almost impossible..and it is unhealthy. Think of it as a long term goal. My suggestion would be to jog (or fast walk) for time...40 mins to an hour a day. This is in addition to whatever walking you normally do. I would also suggest using weights to work the non-problem areas like arms, shoulders, back and chest. Work into it slowly, but start to push yourself in time...and consult a doctor before you begin any exercise program. AND DON"T take any diet pills. Good luck...Oh, and clean up your diet...remove processed foods and add vegetables, low fat meats, etc...
