How much fat do you burn in an hour of exercise? |
Specifically, how many grams or calories of fat do you burn in an hour of biking or jogging. Assume that you burn a total of 600 calories, but how many of them come from fat, how many from carbs, and how many from protein? Thanks. It depends on the heart rate. At lower heart rates you burn more fat. At higher rates you burn more sugar. that is why walking is as effective as running if you want ot lose weight. If you exercise too hard your sugar will burn and you wont lose alot of weight. Just make sure your heart rate is elevated just not too much when you exercise. Well, during the first twenty minutes of exercise, your body is burning food and not fat. But after twenty minutes of continuous exercise, your body starts to burn fat. So if in an hour you burn 600 calories, 120 of them are from burning food, 480 are from burning fat. I hope that helped!
