Does using an execise bike burn fat in the belly and butt? |
I am ne to the whole exercise bike things and only have used an elliptical trainer. mine died recently and bought am exercise bike. I bike for about 30-40 min at moderate speed at level 5 resistance. the machine counts my time and distance travelled usually 13-15 km. I am slowly trying to build up my endurance on the bike and hope to go from 30-40 min to 50-60 min. Will this type of exercise help burn belly fat as well. I do crunches and weight as well. I want to lose weight fast. I am 135 and want to be at 125 or 120 by summers end. I know it takes time. I am willing to work my butt off to get there though. I am in my late 20`s and 5`4``. waist is 28.5, want it back to 27 and my hips are 35 . . .I think I want them down to 33-34. First of all congratulations on your wonderful effort at attempting to be a healthy weight. You don't seem to be very far off, but better to get it under control now than later when it could be worse. I'd rather try to lose 2 pounds than 22 (and heaven forbid 222). Using an exercise bike is a good physical activity that is easy on the joints. Since it's fat burning you are looking for you must do it at a level that is considered aerobic. Your time frame is good, 30-40 mins. Weight training is also a good fat burner not only for the muscle itself (strength), but because the more muscle you have, the more calories you'll burn during periods that you're not exercising. To answer your question though, you can't "target" fat burning. You WILL burn fat with the methods you are using, but just where and how fast is is a question that nobody can answer. if you keep your core tight while exercising its a great workout for you abs and cardio |
