Doing 3 hours exercise a day. too SCARED to stop...Help?


I started doing just 30 mins on my exercise bike, 4 times a week, but it has increased and increased to a point I am scared to do less in case I get flabby or gain weight ?

I am 5'10 and 126 Ibs. I honestly wish to stay at this and not be more, regardless of what I can weigh for my height.

Surely I can maintain this weight doing less than I am?
I try to stick to 1600 calories a day.

I am just so worn out from getting up and doing 2 hours then another hour in the afternoon.

1 hour on bike (at no 3 resistance)
1 hour toning and aerobics
1 hour brisk walking.

Girl, you're exercising way, way too much!

Cut down your exercise time and frequency immediately.

Exercise (cardio) - Bike or walk for 30 - 40 mins per session , 3-4 times per week

Toning exercise - 20 mins per session, 3-4 times per week

This kind of routine is the right amount of time and frequency that your body needs (in fact for every one too).

These exercises plus the1,600 calories diet per day are more than enough to help you create a caloric deficit of 500 per day, to cause you to lose 1 lb of weight in a week .

P/S: 1 lb of weight = 3,500 calories; hence 500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories.

I see you're also over doing the cardio. This may cause you to strip off your muscles and you not able to burn off fat efficiently, hence you've a hard time losing weight.

Do not starve yourself. It sounds like you are not having enough calories for that amount of exercise. Exercising 3 hours requires much more calories than 1600. It sounds like you are on a very strict exercise program. You could cut the time down to 1-2 hours and maintain your current weight. Do not do any ridiculous diets while you are working out that hard.

Remember it's easier to maintain than it is to lose weight. You can up the intensity of your cardio and just do it for less time. Instead of 3 resistance try intervals of 5, 6, 7, etc. You'll plateau anyway if you keep doing the same exercises...so just change it up a bit.

Stop all the excersising and start a diet.. cut out ALL your crackers/snacks and start either the 3 DAY diet or the GRAPEFRUIT diet. Both let you loose upto 10 pounds per week.
