I exercise by riding my bike along the ocean, try to keep it going for 20 minutes or so, no coasting. just? |
riding. now i know that using the larger muscles in the legs are much better than just lifting weights. those of you that daily exercise, is 20 minutes of aerobic exercise enough? thats 20 minutes minimum, at times it can go almost an hour. 2 hours????? you gotta be kidding!!!! i will shrink down to nothing!! i dont have time for THAT much exercise!! Depending on how long you have been riding your bike, at least 6 months, you are now ready for a longer trip. Say an hour for about a year then change some aspect about your riding, sprints, up hill only, just something. You are on a good start. The body needs change to continue to adapt. This will be good for a diabetic. Enough? Probably not. Depends on what you're trying to accomplish. I exercise for at least two hours a day. My goal is to stay off the diabetes medication. If that's your goal, then 20 minutes may not be enough. well is this bike a motorcycle??? |

Find a local bike shop. Go in and tell them about how much you want to spend and where you'll be doing most of your riding. They should be able to help you. And make sure it fits. ...Do both. The bike only really does lower body cardio work and would require more lifting to tone your ... you can get some "pushup bars" cant remeber there exact name - u hold onto them when doing pushups - helps keeps ur body straight and stops your hands moving everywhere. you can get stand... depending on how much you weigh you will burn: (based on 150lbs) 288 - 324 calories per hour of walking 500 calories per hour at moderate speed on a stationary bike ... |
