Is doing exercise before going to bed good?


I do about 40 min exercise, and burn 300 calories. Late evening. I do cross trainer, stepper and bike (burn 100 cal per each machine)

I dont eat anything afterwards - just shower and straight to bed

Is that good way to lose weight? Or is it better to do exercise in the morning?

I find it really difficult to wake up in the morning to do exercise.

I leave for work at 7.15am everyday, so it means i have to wakeup at 5.45am just to do exercise

I consume about 1700 calorie a day

I want to lose about 9lbs

I usually sleep straightaway when i hit the bed.

Also after work - i get home at 6pm, and am really hungry again.

I agree with some of the others here, since when you exercise your heart is pumping more adrenaline is flowing making it harder to relax for a while. But there is another exercise which does help before sleep, which may need 2,
But exercise depends on the person you are, I am, not an early morning person but my wife is. She is better first thing but lazy and needs maximum encouragement. I am a 6-7 time exerciser but that is not always practical some evenings in winter.
You must find your own balance and every body is different. just as well or the gyms would be full at the same time!!
I see you seem to be fully active. See how it affects your work and life and adjust to what is your best, most people find it gives them more alertness at work, esp. for office type work,
I found it made me feel more tired for my old job long distance driving. so I did it when I stopped and slept better, and not when at the wheel

You shouldnt really exercise straight before bed time, it will keep you awake!

It doesnt matter what time of day you exercise though if you're trying to lose teh weight quicker. Its a simple sum of calories in vs calories out. Try doing the exercise perhaps when you get home from work if you cant face doing them when you wake up.

You have to eat after excercising otherwise the muscles will not form properly... they need the energy from the food!
You shouldnt eat just before excercising either as you will be using the energy you have for excercise and not for digestion. Truth be told, you have to excercise earlier in the evening, eat, then bed.

i speedwalk at 10pm EVERY night for 30mins, so easy to lose weight this way, and clears your head too.

Far more enjoyable to do the exercising in bed with a good woman
