What does biking help (body wise)?

I just bought an exercise bike and i am wondering what does biking tone on the body? thank you! :)

It will benefit your cardiovascular system. It will also benefit developing your legs and butt. The rest of your body outside of weight loss - not so much.

How may pro cyclists do you see with big arms and/or a deep chest?

That's why cycling is only part of a fitness program which should be complimented with cross training.

It will certainly tone your leg muscles and more importantly it will 'tone' your heart muscle as well as train your lungs to be more efficient. But only if you regularly use your exercise bike at least 20 or more minutes each time.

Most everything, really! It is for the most part a full body workout.

it helps every area...complete toning

You will by more strong , more healthy and more beautiful . Just do not give up and try real bicycle also , not all cycling man is shy and like to see nice proportioned lady on the bike and certainly will give you smile .

a bike is great for leg strength and is amazing for your abdominal muscels. it will do you wonders.

why not try a spin class they are hard but you will see the results quicker oh and it gives you an *** as hard as a brick

Muscle wise, biking mainly improves you legs, although riding frequently can easily burn calories. And riding to work/school and to the store gets you fit and helps the earth at the same time! :-)

Last spring, I started cycling the 2.5km trip to and from work. It took me 20-25 minutes to walk and about 12 minutes to bike. By the end of the summer, I had lost almost 20 lbs, my legs were toned and my butt was feeling great! It even worked my arms and abs. I didn't change any other aspects of my life except for doing this. And that was only 25 minutes, 5 days a week! It's an excellent workout and I totally swear by it now. Plus, it's fun!

Certainly you gain benefits in your legs and buttocks.

Your arms will also benefit if you are doing moutain biking and riding agressively.

Lastly, your cardio and resperatory system are getting a huge benefits.
