What other exercise should be done if i do bike riding? |
i want to have a balanced exercise routine, where i exercise all my muscles with a few different exercises. i already bike ride but i dont feel like it helps my upper body much. what exercise would be good to do as well as bike riding, something that would help me get my whole body toned and not just my legs?? Well, you are already doing Cardiovascular work (CV) with the cycling, so if you follow this with any upper body work (scrunches, sit-ups, press ups, arm curls etc) you will get a toning effect in your upper body fairly quickly. If you are looking for something which provides all round CV exercise, try an arm/leg cross trainer or double elliptical trainer (usually in gyms as very expensive!) or Rowing Machine. The best exercise for covering all the bases is Swimming. Try to do a mile three times a week (Build up from half a mile to three quarters to the full mile over about a month. Start slower and work up!) Different strokes will build different muscles, I find breast stroke the best all round. swimming, weights especially the bench press I walk, and our son lifts weights we try as an family to keep in shape Swiming The bike riding should be getting your heart rate and adrenaline up enough to burn the fat through out youe body, but to be fit and tone too, you'll need to build muscle in your upper body too. Try some free weights. Have you done any cardiovascular training? The more fit your heart is, the harder and longer you'll be able to ride. But this is true for most any sport, the more blood your heart pumps, the more you can do. you can try push ups and some other stomach muscle exercises diets are no choice eat balanced food forget junk food and try doing dome home shares as mopping and sweeping |
