What do the numbers e.g 1-12 on an electronic exercise bike correspond to? i.e the level of intensity setting?
They correspond to resistance felt when riding or cycling uphill, or at least they try to. Each manufacture has its own build as to what each number means. A cycle with say 1-4 will get very hard very quickly as you go up since its not gradual. Say 1/4 of a 45 degree angle incline. One with many numbers 1-15 will be more effective at simulating a steady raise. Treadmills actually do just lift up off the ground with the aid of jack like piece of equipment in the front to simulate uphill exercises. |
