What is the best amount of time a person should ride a exercise bike?



i need too dump some weight how long should i try too ride for and how many days a week?

This of course depends on your fitness level. My trainer put me on for 20 minutes - adjusting the difficulty level, as I progressed. He recommended at least 4 days a week.
I'd say 20-30 minutes, 3-4 days a week. As you progress, increase difficulty.

Exercise bikes are great for warm ups.

If you need to lose weight, then eat less pies! (ie. watch your diet)

Dont exert yourself do 20-30 mins every other day.
No strain, no pain, no gain...Start out slow and work your way up. If you don't sweat, you're not doing enough. And don't eat a donut while doing it !
For me? One hour.
