Has anyone heard of the exercise where on a bike you go fast for 8 seconds then slow for 12 seconds? |
You are meant to do it for 20 minutes, 3 times a week. It's meant to be very effective for fat burning. I'm going to give it a go, however, i cannot see myself for 20 minutes counting 8 and 12 seconds alternatively. Or even watching the timer, which will make the 20 minutes drag. I was hoping to do it watching tv or listening to music. Don't suppose anyone recorded something that beeps, or makes some sound, every 8 then 12 seconds alternatively? Thanks guys! It was on the tv program 'What's good for you'. Here's the link http://health.ninemsn.com.au/article.asp... Source(s): ninemsn 'What's good for you'. No i have not and i don't see how you will burn calories that way either.Burning calories and fat and building up your heart is by keeping a steady constant heart rate not but lowering it and raising it. I think you are referring to interval training. As far as I know it isn't done over seconds...its done over minutes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/interval_tr... I don't know about 8 and 12 seconds, but interval training is very common in a lot of sports. FWIW, 3 times a week for only 20 minutes of ANYTHING isn't going to burn any fat. It just isn't long enough. i think its called HIT training high intensity training and it does work if stop your body from adapting to the pace your going at if u run for 30 mintues at the same rate your not working your body all the way. But if you sprint then run then sprint and run and continue to do it youll burn more calories it worked for me |
