I need help with an exercise that isnt too energetic? |
i have a chronic illness and i cant even swim any more, i can basically walk and ride a exercise bike but these things get tedious.. i want to be able to do toning exercises but the workouts are way too excessive, does anyone have any ideas that might help and also be fun.. i have lost weight but need to tone up i am very limited as to what i can do please help Hi try a gymball, they are brilliant for toning and tone you up fast to with very little effort. I know you may have to get use to sitting on it, but to tone up you could just lift and strech with the ball, there is no need to sit on the ball its self if you are not able to. Also if you have got cats hide it from them as they love to pop then, I had 4 all popped on me and im glad they arent expensive. They are really good i have problems with my legs and back and this is the best piece of equipment i have ever used and ive bought all sorts of excercise equipment. Also if you are loosing weight and want to tone, you excercise bike is more cardovascular for loosing weight and i find you spend ages going no where and seeing no results. With a gymball after the fist session you can tell where is has worked. have you tried yoga??? A tred mill on a slow pace and if you listen to music or watch tv it is not so tedious Dont know what ur illness is but golf could be good. I dont think you get as much exercise as some other things but you walk alot and also swinging the clubs give u a bit of exercise too. Its not too energetic but does get tiring so i dont know if that would be for u. Try riding a real bike instead of a stationary one, cycling on different terrains and hills can give you good exercise but also gets tiring and much faster than golf. Nintendo Wii? Flail about and get some exercise. You can also get interactive exercise bikes - they are compatible with most of the more established consoles eg PS2 Gamecube - you can play games and exercise all at once - just google interactive exercise bikes and it should throw up some choices. Some gyms have toning tables. All you do is lie on these and they move your body so your muscles work and tone you up. there will be a few different tables to work different muscle groups if you go to http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/regency/tonin... it will give you an idea of the way the tables work. The best shape I have ever been in I achieved by doing isometric exercises. All I did was clench my muscles (wichever group I was working on) and hold for a count of ten starting with five times per day and increasing gradually. When you think you have the tightest clench then tighten again. It really works. To isolate different muscle groups you may need to adot different positions but just experiment. You can actually tone your whole body by laying down and tensing your entire body. Its lazy and effective. |
