I'm 46 and I think I hurt my back. I need to get some kind of aerobic exercise 3x per week.....? |
other than the pool....what could I do. I have an exercise bike that for some reason kills my lower back. One one setting the seat is too high and the next seat too low......I have a stair stepper in the garage, but on number 1 the tension is too much and I don't want to bulk up and I have before....I wish I could make the tension 0. Anyone know how....(this is a cheap200 dollar stair stepper) it would be great for a guy. Any opinions on what I should buy like a treadmill.....a different type of bike? Would one that you sit on the floor in be better? So any suggestions. Seems walking outside even hurts my lower back.....I can't believe this.... Good Luck If you think you have hurt your back you need to go and see your GP or a physio. They will be able to help you diagnose the problem and recomend what is the best form of exercise for you. I am hesitant to recomend any exercise until you know what is wrong with your back and are given medical clearance to exercise. my mother has some of the same problems, she uses an elliptical machine instead of walking because it is lower impact which saves your back maybe a real road bicycle would be more effective than your other bike, an unlimited accuracy available adjustable seat (because you inevitably choose where it sits) maybe even an aerobics ball, with massaging spikes? You might try an exercise bike that mimics a recumbent bicycle - that is, one that provides good support for your back in a more or less upright posture.
