Nice change from depression, but can exercise induce mania? |
My depression was very bad until very recently when I started to use my exercise bike. Nothing else has changed. I feel more manic. If it has worked, I wonder how long I have until I crash. I am not bi-polar, but I would rather be up than down. maybe not in its self but I would say that someone that is manic could well over exercise. i am bipolar "Feeling manic" and having a manic episode are two completely different things. Everybody "feels manic" from time to time, and if this is pleasant, helpful and productive, by all means do what it takes to keep it. If you're wondering how long it will last, it can certainly last as long as you want or expect it to--nobody can tell you how your mind normally works. Manic episodes are, in part, distinguished from normal ups by the fact that they are unpleasant, harmful, and destructive. I doubt that is what you are experiencing. You could a write a movie script. First of all, only people with Bi-Polar disorder experience 'mania'. There are different degrees to Bpd. Some need meds some not. If exercise is making your depression lift, and you feel good that's GREAT. If you exercise habitually, those endorphins will stick around and you won't 'crash'.(another bi-polar term) Mania isn't just a 'good feeling'. It's a GREAT FEELING that gives us SUPER HUMAN POWERS. OR it makes us SO PISSED OFF WE COULD ______ Good luck friend, D u could write a movie scritp I would drink alot of water- 64oz when exercising. your probobly just not used to feeling up above depression so its strange to you to feel up. just run with it and if you get back down than try new options. you seem smart enough you figured out half of it yourself! <@=) |
