I am looking for an electric scooter. I am wondering does the higher wattage and voltage mean more speed and power? How many watts and volts do I need to get a decent amout of speed and power? I also and looking for something cheap. Around the $300 price range. Where can I get a comparison chart for the speed/power for various scooters? Don't worry about the voltage- that only matters when getting a charger or new battery pack. The wattage is what matters. 250W is only a "power assist", you'll need to pedal to get going and to go up hills. The bare minimum for level ground is 400W and you'll want at least 500W to get up hills. Expect a top speed of 30km/h (20mph) no matter what you buy- that's the legal limit for unplated ebikes in most jurisdictions. |
