Does anyone know if it is a state law for an 8 yr old to wear a helmet on an electric scooter in Arizona?

My 8 year old son's rechargable scooter goes 10 miles an hour. My husband lets him ride it to the end of the block (about 6 houses down) and back without a saftey helmet on. Our neighborhood does not have sidewalks so he has to ride it in the street. Our street is semi busy, but not heavy traffic at all. I get upset when he let's him do this and I want to know if it is a law here in AZ , is it illegal to ride these scooters without a helmet on a boy of this age? My Hubby thinks I'm being over protective but I think I'm being safety smart. What's your opinion?

ask your husband to run as fast as he can with his head into a wall and realize he's not going 10mph

No helmet law for any age in arizona. My wife doesnt let me take my boy out on my bike. i asked a police officer cause i ride a 600rr what the laws are, he said no helmet laws no matter what cc the bike is.
be carefull, especially in arizona crazy drivers. theres always that guy that thinks he is a race car driver and swings around corners and never sees you.

Forget the law. Do it because it is dangerous.

My wife was just hit by a car (while walking) and now she is suffering from head injury. And on a small (young) boy the head injury will be even worse.

Long time ago, I felt the seat belt was stupid (when it first started). Now I would NOT get into car without working seat belt. Your hubby will come around - if you put your foot down.

At least wear a bicycle helmet.

The law probably doesn't require it for a kid on a toy scooter, but does for motorcycle passengers under age 18 in AZ.

Put a helmet on the youngster.
We had a fatality in my state when an unmoving motorcycle fell over at a traffic light.

let me get this straight you are letting an
8 year old child ride an electric scooter
on a public street without a helmet.
are you kidding me. what the hell is wrong
with you and your husband. it only take's
one moron in a car to ruin your son's day.

Get him a quality helmet, head injury is pretty serious.
