How do i speed up my scooter?

i have one of those electric scooters, but i would like it to go faster, what could i do to solve this problem, thanks all...

Swapping a more powerful electric motor will work, but it will be expensive and may not meet your performance expectations, and may even create more problems (like battery drain issues.)

If you wish to stay electric, go get a more powerful electric scooter.

If you're after performance, go get a gasoline scooter in the power range you're looking for, and save yourself the trouble of modifying the darn thing.

Keep in mind that any performance mods to an electric vehicle are going to be expensive. That being said, you should start by looking for a motor in the HP range you want. Let's begin with your current motor.

Take your scooter apart if necessary, and get the model number for your motor. Go online, and look up the specs of that motor. You are looking for three things: Brushed/Brushless, Wattage, and RPM. Wattage will determine weight carrying capability, accelleration, and overall top speed. RPM will determine total top speed, and Brushed/Brushless will determine pretty much nothing except how often you'll have to service the motor. Wattage can sometimes be listed as HP, although they are very different forms of power rating.

Okay, how much more performance do you need? Do you want it twice as fast? Three times as fast? Quite simply, if you want it three times as fast, look for a motor online that has three times the watt or hp rating, and three times the RPM rating. It's not really this simple, but it's a rough estimate of future performance. So, let's say you have a 2500 RPM, 300 watt motor. You could change it out for a 1000 watt, 7500 RPM motor. This is not a realistic example, but an example nonetheless.

To determine range and ride time, consider upgrading your batteries as well. Most companies also offer specific chargers for their batteries. Deciding on batteries depends on the power you need for your motor, how long the batteries need to sustain the power, and how much power they can put out at once. Rather than writing another 10 pages on all that information, I suggest you check out some lithium cell companies and call them for more information about their specific products.

The brushed motor vs. brushless motor argument will go on forever. Brushless motors tend to have slightly better efficiency and need less maintenance, but some people prefer the brushed variety. Read up to make your decision.

Long story short, you'd be better off buying a faster scooter than putting that much money in the one you have. For a top speed boost, you may also consider changing out the drive pulley for a larger one (if it even has a drive pulley... some are direct drive where the motor connects straight in to the wheel).
