Is there any way to make an electric scooter faster?

better question: why are you using an electric scooter and not a regular scooter?

answer: its better to use a regular scooter becasue you get excersize. if more people recieved more excersize in a day, it might help cut back on one of the US's; obesisity. 2) although electric scooters are better than gas, they still hurt the enviorment more than regular scooters.

Get one with a more powerful motor.

I've heard that on some models you can remove one of the wires going from the motor controller to the motor which limits the maximum speed. Of course going faster will reduce your battery range as well.

Forget the scooter and get an electric bike.
This way you can pedal too, and the chinese are making them very cheap now (and using them)

Change the motor with a powerful one.

Rpm's are maxed out on electric scooters and electric bikes to avoid licensing problems in a lot of areas. They are made so they won't go faster than 20 mph, about as fast as you can pedal a bike in high gear. They can be made to go faster if you can make the wheel sprocket larger or drive sprocket smaller. (That's a lot of work0. And, the brakes are not adequate for higher speeds. Someone made and sold a modified Curry electric bike that went 35 mph, I think.

Of course you can remove the electic motor and install a gas engine.

I guess your easiest bet is that highly technical beast they call a...HILL, down hill will definitely give it a kick.
