Is someone out there using either the Hero electric or any other electric scooter? What problems? How good?

Pl somebody tell me (only owners and users please, no marketing guys), whether you are using any of the new electric two wheelers? for how long? how good is it? maintenance problems? Kms per charge? pulling capacity? single or double etc. pl reply

I'm currently using an electric scooter from a relatively new company - the iMoto2 Verde. I got it because it's cheap and seemed like it would meet my needs.

Unfortunately it's broken 3 times, never lasting a week before breaking. Each time it had the same problem - water got to the motor controller and shorted it out. The store I bought the scooter from is trying one final time to move the controller to a location where it will stay dry (simply "waterproofing" the case didn't work).

So one issue with some electric scooters is functionality in wet conditions. However, in my research there are many electric scooters which specifically state they will work in the rain as long as you don't drive them through any deep puddles. If they can't get my Verde to work in wet conditions, I'm going to trade it in for a model made by Skeuter.

The Verde has a top speed of about 20 mph on flat terrain, goes about 20 miles per charge (but has the option of going further in a slower mode). Only maintenance problem is keeping the motor controller dry. Since it's not very powerful (only 800 W motor), the Verde is only designed for 1 person.

Skeuter is better. Their models go about 30 mph, probably around 20-30 miles per charge, and can transport 2 people.

I bought the Verde for $1200 and the Skeuter costs around $2000.

Another good one is the Zapino which goes 30+ mph, 30+
miles per charge, seats 2, but costs $3000.

I've also heard good things about the EVT 4000e, which goes 30 mph, 25 miles per charge, and costs $2500.

There are many good electric scooters out there. A good reference site is EV Finder.

Feel free to email me via my profile if you have further questions. I've researched electric scooters very thoroughly.

I don't have an electric scooter, but I am on my second electric bike now. The first was a Curry which I had problems with and didn't trust. I now have had a Giant Lite for several years, and I believe it is very dependable. It's a five-speed and I start out in 4th and keep it in 5th most of the time. They claim 20 to 30 miles per charge, but I am leery of trusting it for more than 10 miles or so. Of course you could always get the extender battery which would double the range. This is the lightest electric bike I know of, because the battery is Lithium-Ion, so the extra battery is expensive - like $360.
Electric bikes are engineered to only go about as fast as you could pedal a bike in high gear (so they don't have to be licensed as vehicles.) So they go about 20 miles per hour.
