One more about the scooters at Disney World.? |
What if you own your own electric scooter. Can a child be permitted to ride with an adult on it if you take full responsibility? The only rule that would apply if you own the scooter is Disney requires you to promote a safe environment for other guest. If children operating it or riding on it somehow posed a safety hazard to other guests(ie reckless driving or inability to control it with the child on it) they would ask you to correct the situation or if you cannot remove the scooter from Disney property. Before anyone brings up ADA, ADA doesn't cover Electric Convenience Vehicles, which is what scooters are, only wheelchairs. just don't put them on it right in front of the gate and u should be fine... ive never seen anyone "get in trouble" for having a child ride on it! I'm not sure, but you can try posting this on The Disboards disAbilities board. They are an extremely helpful lot and will be happy to answer your question and explain the reasons behind the answer. i'm not sure if it matters, be safety is very important in the parks. if a child falls off a disney scooter, it is the company's responsibility to make sure the child is not hurt. and also there is a weight limit on the scooters so the company doesn't want them broken. i think you can have the child on an outside scooter, if not, the cast members will tell you. but like i said, it's mainly for safety. If its your own scouter they dont care..... My in-laws let my kids ride on it with them all the time and no one says anything... It is your own reponsibility if something happens |
