Why dont my parents like me???

i don't get why my parents don't like me. really i mean they like my brother way more than me but he has terrible grades and doesn't care about them and he treats them like crap. but i don't im nice to them i have great grades ive made the honer roll before and gotten student of the month before and i try so hard but they just dont care and just yell at me and assume that i play stupid little games to get other people in trouble like when my brothers friend broke my electric scooter i told my mom and she said don't lie i just saw him riding it and it was fine and i told her that if he was the last one riding it so that must mean he broke it. but she thought since i don't like people riding my scooter that i saw him and broke the scooter myself and blamed it on him to get him in trouble and i explained to her how stupid that sounded and she just wouldn't listen. so now you can see why i have this problem and how i really need help please leave comments with answers.

noone at yahoo answers can give you a lot of closure on this. you need to TALK to your parents, tell them how you feel about it, and trust me that will resolve the issue.

Well, maybe you should ask them why they treat you this way? i mean, really, if it's gotten to this point, then just be real direct about it. If they don't tell you, or they lie, then don't even try anymore. See how they treat you if you act like your brother. Not permanently, that'll ruin ur future lol, but try it for like a week.

I don't know that your parents hate you. They may be stricter with you. I know my parents always treated my little brother better because I'm a girl and he's a boy. Asian familiies prefer the boy. When i asked them about it they always would say they liked us both evenly. They later told me when I got older why my brother got better treatment. But in honestly I always knew. A) possibly because he's younger, and B) because I'm a girl.

I'm sure that you'll grow and you'll just stop caring. Your parents probably treat you the same and you don't realize it. Just don't let it get to you and do your own thing. :)

i share your sentiments, alex.. this is what i call sibling rivalry.. honestly, reading your story means that they favored your brother instead of you.. i might be asking are you really their biological( legitimate) child? or just an adopted one? coz if you're the adopted, then they usually treat kids like that.. that's not fair.. you're not close to your dad? you should start asking if you are a legitimate child or not and why are they treating you like that.. hope i answered your story.. i am an illegitimate child and have gone through worse.. but i don;t mind anymore coz now im working, i thank for all they done to me coz im independent and can stand on my own..

You know I had the same problem with my aunt when I was a teenager. I used to live with her because both my parents were working abroad. I just felt unappreciated by her and I always feel that she blames me for the mishaps involving me. What I did was I wrote a her a long letter and left it on her table. I poured out everything...my feelings, my grudges, my expectations, everything. She cried and after reading the letter she changed the way she treated me.

I think that writing a letter is better than talking to your parents face to face because they can't react right away that may prevent you from saying more things that you want them to hear. Through the letter, you can say everything and their reactions will come later. Maybe they will be enlightened or be defensive but altogether you were able to convey the message to them about your hurts.

find a time to talk to them in private ..
tell your parents what you really feel ..
or ,, talk to ur brother first ..
see if he could help you tell your parents what you feel ..
you can also tell to a close relative that you are comfortable with ..
thay might help you ..
but before you do anything ..
pray to God first and ask for His help ..
pray that your parents will realized what you feel and
treat you fairly ..
He can really help you ..
just trust Him .. =)
