Disney world USA, help with wheelchair?

we are going to florida to disney worls, seaworl etc, does any one no if they have electric scooters which we can hire etc for the day, do we have to book these? My mum, has bone cancer and is now in a wheelchair, she uses a electric scooter here, but we have been told that she cant take it, she likes the scooter for her own indepenance etc., anh answers or suggustion would be fantastic, thanks

Each park at Disney offers wheelchairs for rentals, but if they sell out of them before you arrive, they won't have anymore to offer, so be sure to do that first. I've included a link to info on Disney's wheelchairs.

However, I think that it would be much easier for your family to rent the wheelchair for your entire stay, and probably a lot less expensive as well. So that you don't have to rent one each day, you can rent one for the length of your stay. I highly recommend Walker Mobility, they are a really great company and they will both deliver and pickup the electric scooter at your hotel. Their prices are really great and they have a lot of different options available, I've included a link to their site as well.

Yes they have them.

The place to rent them is right outside of the park entrance.

They also have regular wheelchairs as well.

If you are staying at one of the resorts and using the resort bus transportation, the busses all have scooter/chair lifts. I've seen many people use them. You can pick these up in your hotel and use it for the entire stay. (contact your hotel in advance for a reservation).

If you're staying off-resort, and/or plan to go to other theme parks (like Sea World) then you may want to rent from a local service like Walker.

Yes Normally just inside the entrance at most places, electric scooter, wheel chairs and strollers. I love the name "strollers" better than our english "push chair"

People in wheel chairs, and those accompanying them, are allowed to move to the front of the lines.

My husband needed an electric wheelchair (due to a back problem)
while we were in Orlando a few years ago we had no problems getting one (electric) in all the parks we visited you can rent them in all the parks they really are geared up for wheelchair users almost all of the attractions are wheelchair friendly and all the shows have areas just for your mum to use.
It really didn't make any difference to us that my husband used one we still had great fun and my two sons enjoyed getting a lift when there legs got tired, even the stores have big enough isles for you to take your wheelchair into. Hope you all have a good time

They do have them available to rent. You don't have to book them in advance, just when you get there. Also, when you're in Disney World, so to City Hall (the fake city hall in the park) and ask them for a guest assistance card (GAC). This will ensure that you will have a much shorter wait in any lines. Keep in mind, though, that this card does NOT mean that you will get on the ride immediately, but your wait time mill be much shorter. The GAC card is good for no more than 6 people. If you have more than that then somebody is going to have to wait in the normal standby line.

At least, this is how do things in Disneyland, and I imagine it works pretty much the same way.
