How fast do you think this Electric Bicycle goes?

http://www.schwinnbike.com/products/bike...

Depending on the country, there is usually a legal limit to how fast you can go while assisted by a motor. Usually, it's 32 kph, or 20mph. Which means that the bike's motor will simply stop help you at that speed. I remember seeing a Schwinn electric bike once and it topped out at 28 kph. Not sure about this one. The battery can be finicky and make sure you learn the best way to preserve it the longest.

EDIT: you might have excellent reasons for getting an electric bike, but I almost got one and I think it would have been a mistake. For this kind of money, you can get virtually any bike you want -- including the lightest and the most efficient. I really think that would be a better way to go. Others may argue, but from all I read, electric bikes just aren't quite worth it yet. Batteries are the main problem. They don't tend to last very long (in terms of years) and they make your bike incredibly heavier.

I don't know the answer, sorry. But at that hefty price I'm surprised top and average speed numbers aren't posted. Also, ride time numbers would be very important.

The bike would cost about $300 or so without the motor at $2200 that means the "electric" part costs a whopping $1900!!! Holy cow!

I note they list the spoke nipples etc in the specs. (who cares) yet list no specs for for the $1900 part of the bike. I guess a visit to the bike shop would be in order.

I'm guessing at 180 watts continuous (the rating for the motor) you could expect 18-20 mph. For the price, you'd get better performance out of a moped; but of course with a moped you'd have to buy gas.
