At my wits end with my bikes electronics!?

okay, so as you can see after my previous question. i have charged and fitted a new battery to my bike as when i bought the bike the battery on it was flat.

i did everything i was supposed to, fill it with acid, let it sit for half an hour, then charge it for 2 hours. (yes, i have fitted it red possitive/black negative)

yet my bikes electronics still dont work. My indicators & digital gear indicator work with no battery on the bike atall, just off the kickstart which i thought was odd, but my headlight & breaklights dont, nor does the electric start.

what can be the problem?, im p!ssed off because now the battery i bought is just going to sit theres and go flat.

any thoughts?

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO GET REPAIRED, BECAUSE I CANT BE BOTHERED WITH IT ANYMORE IF IT DOESN'T WORK THIS NEXT TIME.

Not just your main fuse. Pull them all, one at a time, and clean off the contacts, inspect 'em, and put 'em back if they have continuity. Weird but true, the fuse contacts will corrode over a long period of time.

For future reference, always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.

Check the main fuse.
Check that the battery (-) cable is making a good connection to ground (one end of the cable bolts to the battery, the other end of it bolts to the engine or frame - ground).
Perhaps the ignition switch is defective.

Your indicator lights work when you kickstart it because you have a permanent magnet alternator. That type does not need battery current to energize the field coil and thus produce electricity.

If everything is working fine, it should start by kickstarting it because the alternator will produce enough juice to energize the ignition.

If the fuses are ok and the battery terminals clean, I'd check out the starter switch. Also make sure the kill switch isn't in the off position.

hmm, just pull it and charge it some more, make sure it's sitting on wood and not just on the concrete when you charge, and see what happens, you can't overcharge if you have a tender

Check your main fuse ,Does it start with the kick starter?
