What's safer = ATV's or Dirt bikes?

15 Years old.

I'm really confused...

Atv= if you roll, your screwed..and you can't "jump out"...but you can land easier

Dirt bike = Harder to land, you can jump out if you are heading for a tree, easier to fall...

idk...which?

ATV's

I started both my Daughters on ATV's that way they can shift gears and not have to worry about balanceing a bike and trying to start off from a dead stop ,ATV's they are a lot more stable then a dirt bike in turns just remember to never put your foot down when riding a quad that back tire really hurts and it will grap the back of your foot if you put it down

well there both bad when something happens, but when there is an accident its easier to get away from the bike then the atv, the atv always seems to find you when your rolling on the ground.

and to the dumass who said you have to be in better shape to ride a bike, thats total bs. its a lot easier to whip a bike thats half the weight of an atv around a turn/corner.

Safer, neither, it's about the rider in both cases.

When you fall over your ATV it'll land on your back, You might not walk in the future, Dirt bike also dangerous, Don't think ATV has 4 wheel, it mean safe, It's dangerous as hell

I guess no mate what if you crash on something like that it is probably going to hurt if you are going at a faster speed!

Riding a motor cross bike requires a pretty good level of fitness, relative strength, endurance, and flexibility, while almost anyone can ride an ATV - so if you're out of shape go with the ATV. However, if you're in good enough shape to do tricks, I would highly suggest starting with the dirt bike because it's a hell of a lot easier to get out from under a 250lb machine than a 600lb machine.

Dirt Bike Dangers:
Faster
Burn you leg
Lighter, so you're more likely to go airborne
Sits higher, so you could get thrown further
Rear wheel slippage

ATV Dangers:
Heavier
Awkward on parallel angles
Handle bars tend to be closer to the rider (break your wrist)
Harder to recover from a slide
You can't stop them by putting your foot down

i don't know i've never been on either very regularly. something i have found out is that a vehicle is only as dangerous as its owner.

i've seen people do crazier things in a car than i would try on a motorcycle. and supposedly motorcycles are more dangerous.

Start out with ATV's they are more stable and if its your first time you need to get used to motorsports. Plus in my opnion they are more fun.

I have a Bruin 350(discontinued) by Yamaha and its great. Its nearly impossible to flip(as long as i dont do anything stupid) because of its width.
