Dirt bike off brand bying help? |
OK so should i buy a off brand bike and save the cash sush as a omrion 21-G or should i buy a used honda or yamaha this bike must be sutible for my son who is 5 6''. I never heard of the omrion 21-G. My son races dirt bikes. He has a Kawasaki. I would say you might want to go with a more recent bike. The parts on the omrion 21-G might cost you alone and hard to find and the resale value is not as good. Dirt bikes have to be maintenance after each use. My son top end his out alot, new handle bars, new tires, alot to consider when purchasing one. If you are new at this, make sure your son fits the bike, or the bike will control him. Believe me. My son thought he was ready to step up and boy did he, crash big time- bike was too powerful. Are you interested in stock bike or after market, R&D, bored, tuned & proted, etc... DOES HE WANT A 4 STORKE OR 2 STROKE? Go to a dirt bike forum/website and read up on the MX dirt bikes and ask questions.. Good luck to you..... be very careful with the off brands i bought one the parts are very hard to get. no matter what they say.. They are good for trail riding and stuff especially the one from Marshin Power many dealerships sell parts for these bikes hard to get parts for an off brand. i look for a honda or a yamaha though because they are just great bikes. buying used bikes isnt bad if the previous owner took care of them because then the bike is already broken in and you can get them a lot cheaper. if you do get one used look at the weld on the bike, if the paint is cracked or chipped at the weld then the frame has taken a beating. hope this helps. Depends... the off brand bikes are for people who MIGHT, once upon a time, in a far off weekend, THINK about riding their bike. The Hondas and Yamahas are for people who are going to be riding the bike regularly and to the best of their ability. If your sure it's not just a passing fad for your son, get a Honda, man, and save yourself the headache. |
