I want to paint dirt bike frame..? |
I have a kx250, a 2004. I want to make the bike a head turner. So I deiced to paint the frame and get black plastics and keep the two white side number plates. anyways; for painting just the frame, could I use normal $4 a can spray paint? I would do it all from sanding, cleaning and primering. On the frame now, there is no rubing stops. Where the paint comes of. Or should i get the Expoxy paint for $10 a can? Spend the money and get the frame powder coated. Powder coat - color is electrofused to the metal and is as hard as a rock. You can hit it with a hammer and it won't chip. Paint from a spray can is just gonna chip & ware off after a season of riding. If you go the "do-it-yourself" way, you'll just have to keep touching it up. Epoxy paint will be a little stronger and impervious to gas & oil spilling on it. Take the parts off and get it powdercoated let them sand and powdercoat for less than $200 bucks thats the only way to go Nightrain's right. Powder coating is almost bullet proof. You can smack it with a hammer, dent the metal, and the coating shouldn't chip off. |
