Am I to big for a 85 (2-stoke) MX dirt bike?

I'm 5'4", 14, and 115lbs. I was wanting to know if I was to big for a 85 motocross bike? If so what bike should I get?

I would be getting a yamaha YZ 85..

You are the perfect size for an 85, but at 14 you will probably be growing pretty fast. Pick up a used 85 that you can resale in a year without losing too much money and then move to a 125/250F. You can only race the 85 class another year anyway, the cutoff age is 15. Just an FYI, the KTM 85 is probably the fastest 85 on the market, but the YZ would be a great choice also.

Your getting kinda close but if your worried you'll be to big for that bike, which you might be cause its a 2 stroke, why not look at the new Honda Crf 150 its a 4stroke sub for the 85 2strokes its just as fast but with more torch and the same suspenion and u can run it in schoolboy Jr. if u plan to race. but if the reason your getting the 85 is cause ur buying it off someone used for a cheaper price then yea go ahead and get it, but if ur buyin new and planning to race or just ride around then go ahead and get the new Crf its worth its weight in gold, good luck

You will probably outgrow it in a matter of months. If you plan to race, you will want a bike that is going to last you more than a partial season. At 5'3" and 110 lbs. I had a Yamaha RD350B back in the 70's and a Honda 175CB commuter scooter. Same height and weight but a decent job got me a Harley Davidson Sportster and that was the end of my plans for MX. What I am saying is you have the strength to handle a 350 and compete on same, especially if you are wiry.
if you are gonna grow more then i think you should buy a yz125. then you wont need to buy another bike for a while, plus the yz125 is absolutely amazing. i just got a 2006 yz125 and it blows my mind how awesome it is. i think you will dig it too!
You will be fine on an 85. I am 6'4" 200 lbs and i just rode my buddy's kids 1987 kx80. It moved me ok. If it is going to be your first bike, then definately go with the 85. Then next year you will be ready to trade it in for a 125.
