What Dirt bike is better Honda,Kawasaki,Yamaha,Suz... KTM? |
Tell Me which on is better!! I Used Kawasaki its a Kool raceing Kid... but Expencive maintance. Yahama is the best for OF road drive.. But... HONDA is all over the best. in all waysss. I love it I Already have Honda CG-125 and not can STOP ME!! the Honda is better,they have improved a lot over the years,i had a Kawasaki and got rid of it,my next one will be a Honda,I'm waiting for the clearance sell on them,there good bikes,good luck.,,Honda,s you get better riding from them than you do any of the others. been a certified mechanic for 37 yrs. basically it comes down to your perference or your choice since all these brands are very dependable, reliable, have bikes in the top of each category (MX, SX, Hare Srambles, Enduro, Cross Country, Desert, etc.)... personally, I have had very good luck with Honda, KTM, Kawasaki and Suzuki ... I have had issues on every Yamaha bike I have owned but yet some of my friends swear by them... better is also hard to define ... some offer better areas over others, like better suspension or better horsepower or better cornering, etc... and each year there are improvements in different areas between brands... they have alot of money to throw at their products to try to sell better. I have owned over 35 dirt bikes of varying brands over the years, I would be very hard pressed to pick out just one brand that is "best" because of the above factors and each year one might have a better fit for me over another or might offer something that I am specifically looking for in my bikes. currently, I own 2 KTMs, 1 Honda and 1 Kawasaki for different purposes and different preferences depending on what I intend on riding / racing on a given day... if I had to pick just one brand, I would probably have to go with Honda since they offer great products, put alot of money into their R&D and a reasonable price (comparitively speaking), then KTM, then Kawasaki, then Suzuki, then ??? (remember, my luck with yamaha hasn't been good) ... Husky, GasGas, Husaberg, etc.??? 40 plus years of riding & wrenching my own bikes. All have pros and cons Yamaha has better suspension on both the two and four stroke, also top end doesent have to be revalved after a couple of races like the hondas, two strokes are real picky when it comes to jetting.Both have good sprockets but weak chains, so when the chain goes you must change out the whole works Kawasaki suspension simply sucks as the springs are just to light on both ends and like to chew up clutches just after a couple of 2nd gear wide open starts,also real overheating problems and geared to tall for tighter tracks.footpegs too far forward,taller riders feel cramped up. Suzuki is really reliable/tough motor, springs in forks push in corners in stock form, so must be changed out before racing, never come across one that the head NEEDED to be redone Also runs alot better with straight race fuel (VP U4) with stock carb. But when they do blow they go BIG.Seen bottom end on lots...Big shavings in oil filter big pieces in crankcase. KTM revs higher/pulls harder then any japanese bike but are heavier than all of them.Rear suspension issues, Hydraulic clutch is nice but you've got no adjustment, so mud races cook the clutch because of so much feathering. Plastic sucks as you cannot buy off the shelf numbers that will fit the plates, front fender I.D is smaller than the tire O.D so it constantly hits tire which sucks under hard braking bumps going into tight corners Hondas constantly need head work after a couple of races mostly because people idle them on the line to long and they overheat real quick cooking the valves,Springs in forks opposite of the suzuki, grab an extra tooth on rear sprocket before riding as it hits the rev limiter lots in stock form. My opinion, 07 bikes Yamaha....08 bikes Suzuki Been racing forever |
