Spray painting a dirt bike? |
I have a black dirtbike and i want to paint the plastic part light blue, violet, pink... etc. (mainly blue) Does anyone have any ideas of where we can get some good spray paint in sandy, UT? (sherman williams?) cool, Sandy, UT, http://www.sandy.utah.gov/ Columbia Paint http://yellowpages.heraldextra.com/colum... Messmer http://yellowpages.heraldextra.com/messm... try yellow pages, and local automotive stores, http://yellowpages.heraldextra.com/searc... sherwin williams http://www.sherwin-williams.com/... .. would not suggest spray paint! no matter what kind it flakes off plastic! suggest after model plastic kits not too much money! buy the color you want ,, best bet! motosport.com/ad/?...&words=AC... Go to an automotive auto body supply place and they should have a spray you can use to help the paint edhere to plastic. The big thing to remember is to prep your surfaces well before you spray. Sand with 600 grit wet/dry and makes sure you clean them all well. Use surface prep, Rubbing alcohol works in a pinch. Don't touch the pieces with bare hands, use rubber gloves, the oil from your fingers will leave trouble spots. Spray on your promoter, then prime and paint. You'll want to make sure the primer is flexible. (Also from the auto supply place.) Enamel paint will flex to a point before it snaps so it should be relatively durable. (Unless you wipe out a lot!) Good luck |
