Dirt-bikes are fun, they're kinda tricky in mud or sand, that's where ATV's take over the fun. You can ride a ATV way longer than a motorcycle with out getting as tired
dirtbikes are typically faster but quads are more safe and more fun in the snow :)
ATV's are for people who can't balance a motorcycle.

Don't let anyone kid you and tell you they are safer. Check the statistics and you'll see that atvs are killers.
