I really want a dirt bike. I've never owned one before so what kind should I get? |
Please don't answer if you don't know anything about them. I really need help! your physical size and strength should be factors.if you are small, don't go for the biggest bike out there because you will not be able to handle it.start out with something like a 125cc bike.after you get some experience, you can always move up to a bigger bike.as for brand, that is personal preference.Honda,Suzuki and Yamaha all make good bikes.what do your friends ride?maybe they will let you borrow theirs for a test ride. me and my friend used to have one.. a long time ago.. i don't remember the name, but i remember Honda is a good brand If you never had one before make sure you get one that is your size and not too powerful. Stick to something not over 125cc. Maybe even 80 or 100cc. Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha. Don't EVER ride without a helmet. A Honda CRF230F is a good bike. It is pretty easy to ride while it still has good power. It may be a little too powerful for someone who has never rode a bike before though. I dont know what you should get you need to be more specific. There are so many makes and models from 50cc right up to 1200cc is it for competition riding or just for kicks? there are a million things to consider, your experience, your height, your weight, your skills base, have you had training? have you ridden before? Price bracket. You will most likely also need a trailer to carry it as not all dirt bikes can be road licenced.( serious ones anyway) and you will need to invest in some substantial armour and protective gear. I would suggest that you get down to a local dirt bike club and talk to real dirt bikers and ask them this question. You may even be able to sit on a few bikes and get a feel for them. Visit show rooms and do the same , read dirt bike magazines as these usually have ride reviews in them. Dirt bikes can be a lot of fun in the right hands , trust me though if you dont take your time get some lessons and choose your bike wisely you could end up in a world of serious hurt. a cr500 would be a good bike......ha aha ha ah ah Go for a street /dirt bike. Sit on the bike and make sure both feet can be flat on the ground when sitting on it and you aren't on your tippy toes. This is the most important factor in owning any bike.Make, model, whatever,as long as the bike fits you and nothing under 250cc. I highly recommend a safety riders course approved by the AMA and the state you live in before buying anything |
