Whats powerband on a dirt bike?

Whats powerband on a dirt bike?

its at a certain speed where the engine operates most efficeintly and really opens up with alot of power usually on two stroke bikes. THe power band is like near the top end of whatever gear you are in. Where the bike gets really strong then levels off and you have to shift gears.
a engine's "powerband" is the RPM range in which said engine is most efficient, considering it's components (air-intake, exhaust, cam, etc) that can either be biased towards high rpm horsepower or low rpm torque.
ie; long intake runners for velocity, which creates VE (volumetric effeciency) combined with exhaust back-pressure would make alot of low-end torque, but fall off in the higher rpm range.
short runner lenth, high volume intake with open exhaust wouldn't make any low rpm torque but would open up and make horsepower in the higher rpm's.
Cams and timing, among other factors, effect this too. But not on your dirtbike motor.
2 stroke bike.....about 6000 rpm to 8000 rpm depending on the motor & how high a state of tune it is in..

4 strokes have a broader band when the motor comes on the cams...3000rpm to 6000rpm..or more..

but this is dependant on what motor you have...new Japanese bikes can rev out to 15000 rpm & have a wide powerband..
