What can i use to clean up dirt bike plastics and make them reall shiny. and just plain make my bike look good Soap, water and a good spray wax is all you need. If you have scratches then that's another issue. Clean with simple soap and water, then use a clay bar to get residual muck out of the paint, and top off with McGuire's color wax. It's absolutely amazing. you'll have shine like you never imagined. wetsand with 1500 grit sandpaper, make sure you keep it wet and clean. Remove as much scratches as you can. Make sure the entire panel is scuffed up. No shiny spots. Next get a good rubbing compound and a detail wheel (buffer) Start out with a rubbing compound on a low/medium speed. And work your way up to a polish or high luster wax - and higher speed as you go. The color is injected into the plastic, so you can't do much damage. 15+ years auto customizing the 1st answer will probably work pretty good but the last one i done I just used triple 0 steel wool and some wd-40 and went to work and my tank and side panels looked like new when i was done i read the other answers and you are talking dirt bikes = no paint unless it is the 1970s. no paint = plastic = no wax. go to the car wash, wash off any loose dirt, spray the bike with simple green, let it sit a few minutes then pray it off again. this works great to get oil off the engine and chain. After cleaning it really well get black magic for all the plastic. It will make it look great. Thats what I do. yeah i would just say wax it for the body...for the handle bars wash and maybe use for tire soap...that usually works for me...and with the tires...watch out for dirt in b/w the little spokes wenever u pump it up *note: dont use to much water on the seat, if u r going to, dont ride for a while otherwise it will just dampen the seat and tear |
