What year was the first dirt bike race and what type motorcycles did they use?


(also include if you can where was it held)

1924 in britain or south england.it was called a scramble velocetto was the bike it had a 250cc two stroke engine. 80 bikes started 40 finished.

Type in AMA American Motorcycle Association. They should be able to help you find the correct answer. I would guess in the early part of the 20th century around 1907 or something? Maybe earlier overseas somwhere?
