Will not using the clutch on a dirt bike when shifting bad? |
i was talkin to a friend and i was thinking there must be somthing bad about not using the clutch but i dont know what? If it is just a trail bike then I wouldn't recommend it. If it is a motocross bike not a problem. The transmissions in MX bikes have better synchronizers and are meant to be shifted without a clutch. I was taught in motocross school not to use the clutch except off the start and up steep hills where you don't want to drop any rpm's. I've been racing MX, flat track and cross country since the 70's and never had a single transmission problem. it's worse than not using the clutch, but it won't kill it if you do it every once in a while. Just don't do it all the time. yes youre ride will be a hell of alot less smooth and you will wear down the spacing me a biker yea its is very bad it can strip your gears dont power shift, its not good for the cluch in the motor and its bad for gears, if yuo arent racing the there is no need fro not shifting, if you really hate the clutch the get and auto cluch from Rekluse well thats all i really do on a bike except for 1st and ive been doin it for atleast 2 yrs and i ride weekly and pretty rough with changing gears alot so after awhile you may have to change things out but id raher never use a clutch and pay later and you go faster when power shifting, the automatic clutches are crappy and they slip gears alottttt, dont buy one |
