When do i shift gears on a dirt bike?

When do i shift gears on a dirt bike?

That is a very common question for beginners. I see many novices get on the track and stay in the same gear all day. There is no tach on a dirt bike so you can't go by that like you can on a car or road bike. Just listen to the engine and don't let it rev too high before shifting. It is better to shift too soon than too late. Practice is the only answer. If you shift too soon you will feel the bike lose power and slow down a bit so next time you'll know to rev a little higher before shifting. Just keep practicing and you'll be an expert in no time.
umm the clutch, maybe u should some kind of class
shift the gear everytime when the motor running little high it time for u to shift in gear to make dirt bike go fast dont over rev it could damage or blow up..
Are you planing to take the neighbors dirt bike for a spin???
when it doesn't go any faster.
There is no one answer. If you want to have maximum acceleration, you want to shift when your RPMs are as close to the redline as possible. If you want to maximize your fuel economy, you want to shift as early as you can without bogging the engine.
