You are very close to the Brown Mountain ORV park outside of Morganton. Just Follow 181 off the mountain to Brown Mountain Beach Road, turn left, go approx 2 miles and the entrance is on your left.

Your also close to Brushy Mountain Motorsports Park, a privately operated ORV park. Tons of fun, but the owner/operator has some pretty strict rules and guidelines, which is a good thing, but a problem for some.

Another great place to ride, but a drive from Boone is TNT Motorsports Park. It's south of Charlotte on I77 near Chester, SC. Worth the trip though.

Contact your states Parks and Recreation department to see if they offer anything. Unfortunately, there seem to be fewer and fewer places to ride dirt bikes/ATVs, frequently this is because a few spoil it for the many.
