I'm 5'5 and i want to get a dirt bike. About how high, long and wide should my bike be.? |
I dont need model types to buy because i look at all the major manufactures and there way to expensive for a 13 year olds bugit. All i need is to find out how high long and the witdh at the handlebars. plus the seat hight I know you said you don't need model types but I am a similar height to you and I used to use a Kawasaki KX125 I found the shape of the seat to suit me better it seemed to dip sown further in the central area which enabled me to touch the floor with both feet. I'm not sure on measurements as I sold it many years ago but when compared to Suzuki & Honda bikes of a similar style I found these to be to high. A good set of Renthal Bars can be adjusted slightly to suit your riding position you'd have to check what is available nowadays as I'm a bit out of touch. Hope that helps in some way. I don't know about dimensions, but at age 13 and 5'5" you will want at least a 125cc two stroke. Ya need to sit on the bike and see if both feet can touch the ground flat footed!!! If ya can't then the bike ya lookin' at is TOO TALL!!!!! Been riden' for 38 yrs Its really all about preference. Thats why handlebars are available with so many different bend options. Handlebars can usually be trimmed a bit for those who prefer narrower ones. A lower seat height will typically give a novice rider more confidence while learning, but it really isnt all that important to a more experienced rider. As long as you can hold the bike up and start it, you should be fine. Suspension systems can usually be lowered some, but cutting the seat foam is a better alternative on most machines so that the original handling characteristics and suspension travel remain unchanged. Buy the nicest used machine you can afford because repairs on a beater add up really fast. Fuel, tires, and proper maintainence items are enough expense for most as it is. You can always upgrade machines later on, its not you like you have to ride your first bike forever... As a beginner it's better to be wishing for more power, than it is to be scared or get hurt on a machine with too much power for your abilities.... |
