What would be the best kind of motorcross dirt bike for my 9year ols son and how much do they cost? Get him a bicycle. That is probably what you had at his age. The kind with pedals on it. Think about his long-term health. If he has never ridden before, and you are not sure if he will like it, you would definitely want to buy a pre-owned (used) motorcycle. No sense in slapping down alot of money for a brand new one that he will undoubtedly drop a few times in the learning process. Depending on his size, you may find that a Honda CRF-50F of CRF-70F four stroke would suffice, since they are small and easy to maneuver. These will run between $1200-$1500 on the used market. Or, you can buy him a bargain two-stroke, like an older Yamaha or Suzuki in the 50-80CC range for between $500-$800 depending on condition. I've been riding since I was 5 years old, and started out on a Yamaha YZ80 way back when. But don't buy new until you know he will like it! As for price well that depends on what you can afford, the saying try before you buy applies here, no good getting him some wheels if he cant sit properly on it, important he can sit on it and keep his feet on the ground, so its off to the shop then for you and sit him on all there is, until you find the right size for him, but before he gets to ride it at any time get the right protective gear and above all the helmet must FIT, as for the kill joys out there there are more kids who have bad accidents whilst riding ordinary pedal cycles wearing no protection than motorcyclists, one kid who was killed where i live last year lost control after overtaking a car at 30mph going down a steep hill on a badly maintained pedal cycle, had bald tyre and no brakes, this guy seems very responsible. learner dirt track in england are very heavily regulated If you are elsewhere then it is up to you to make sure it is safe...the guy speedfrkscott has all the other stuff you need all the friends kids who have bikes any bike that fits the riders size and abbility . talk to a sales man at bike shops to get opinions dont have to buy can then use that info to look for a used bike dealer may have good used bikes. usally do new ones to hey bye. |
