I need to find out what year the dirt bike i just bought is where do i go? On the frame up by the handlebars their should be a number, also should be one stamped somewhere on the engine too. Get those numbers and call your local dealer and they will usually tell you Should be etched to the frame where the forks are attached to the frame. May have to turn the forks to one side or the other to be able to see it. LOL.... you should have gotten that information when you bought it. But, you can call the seller and ask them. Or if you got it "green stickered" for off road use, the DMV can tell you. A last alternative, is usually on the frame of the bike somewhere usually under the engine, you can find specs on the vehicle (weight, engine size, year, etc.) Find the engine number. It's usually stamped on the flat part of case behind the cylinder and on top of the transmission. It will be easily read from one side of the bike or the other, usually without removing any parts from the bike. Call just about any dealer who sells that brand of bike, read the number to them, and they will be able to look it up and tell you the year. if you can find your vin number and go to the manufacturers site you should be able to find the code listings. but each character in the vin stands for information on the bike if your sitting on the bike turn the handlebars to the left,on the forks it should say |
