I'm a 13 year old and want a dirt bike really bad is a yamaha yz 125 but im not sure. what should i get.? |
it has to be a 125 The YZ125 is one of the best in that class. You would need to be fairly tall for your age for that bike. Are you looking for a motocross bike or a trail bike? The TT-R125 would be better suited for casual riding and has a much lower seat height, power output and price tag. Hmmm... do you have experience? If not, you're biting off more than you can chew for the moment. Plus, you most likely are not tall enough for it. Any 125 motocrosser has a tall seat height, (37-38 inches) what about a kx 100?....http://www.kawasaki.com/products/detail.... I would recomend a smaller bike like a ttr-L 125 0r a crf150f. These bikes are more tame and would be easier to learn on. A 125 is a fun bike, but it will be dificult to learn on. Good luck. any of the 125 2 strokes are good bikes, but not necessarily good to learn on. they are also fairly tall with seat heights of 37-39 inches. likewise they are designed to be ridden in the higher RPM range and tend to be peaky. also depends on what type of riding you will be doing. MX is best suited for the 125s but if you are doing mainly trail riding some of the tamer bikes would be better suited depending on your height and inseam. something along the lines of a KDX which is basically a MX based engine with a flywheel weight for added torque and tames it down or a CRF230 which is a torquey medium size 4 stroke with elec. start. the 125 MX bikes can be toned down to some degree by adding an aftermarket flywheel weight (easily self installed for $35-50) which would make much easier to learn on, then once you get comfortable on it, can remove the FW weight to bring it back up to a MX race bike... just some thoughts, welcome to offroad riding!!! |
