I'm 29 yrs old, what would be a good beginners motorcycle course to take? I have dirt bike experiance.? |
I've found some courses for beginners, but they're for 21 or under, the only one that seems to have no age restrictions is offered from Harley. msf in ohio has no age restriction, just have a mc permit. msf course up here is only 25 bucks compared to 300 from hd's riders edge the beginner's course u use their bike's, and their under 500cc. the experienced course u use ur own bike, no cc restriction, but u need to have the full endorsement for a minumum of 6 months. Less than 500cc street bike. Since you have experience on dirt, your learning curve will be quicker. Good luck; welcome to the streets - ride safe Persona experience from nearly 30 years ago. Take a course from MSF, Motorcycle Safety Foundation, no age limits there, never heard of an age restriction anywhere actually. Anyway, here is a link to their site, they have a list of where the classes are offered: http://www.msf-usa.org/ Former MSF instrustor There are courses available here in Va. and Tenn. and when I lived in NY I took one at a local college. Go to your DMV and they should have a list of courses available. In NY I had to take a Motorcycle Operator Skill Test after the course to get my license but here in Va. when you complete the course they give you a certificate to take to the DMV to get your license without taking the road test. Good luck and safe riding. Take the course offered by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF). They have locations all over the country. They supply the bikes and do a real fine job of teaching you the correct way to ride. It's not that expensive either. Check MSF out on the Internet and get the location closest to you. |
